Here's what I aim to tap into on a corporate day - the child-like sense of play offered by a crayon and a blank piece of paper when you were a kid; No need for an outcome, no fear, just getting on with filling the paper up as fast as possible! That. That right there is the foundation of a day of fun, laughter and yes, even a little bit of creative release.

In the right environment, where I make sure that the need for pleasing outcomes and negative judgements are firmly left at the door, a corporate team can spend the day enjoying my multi-layered approach which will inform, educate, entertain and also provide some quiet space for just settling into making a drawing using the brand new tools and skills we'll have picked up throughout the day. 

I have a few flavours and timings of event available to suit the needs of you and your team, but I'll always promise to make the day way more fun than you'd ever imagine possible. Whether it's in or out of your office, I can conjure up an event which will mean you just need to turn up and play - everything provided from art materials to hand wipes, with catering too if needed.

My team spent yesterday afternoon with Paul Berryman at MK Gallery being the guinea pigs for a new team building event. We're all particularly busy at the moment, so most of us weren't too enthusiastic about the suggestion of fitting in an afternoon of drawing. 

So how do you get a team of sceptical unenthusiastic lawyers to agree to go? You don't. You put it in their diaries and tell them it's no longer optional. So we went...AND IT WAS BRILLIANT!

Most of us rolled our eyes as Paul tried to tell ten lawyers to put our phones away, let ourselves be creative, and that nothing outside mattered for the few hours we were there. Four hours later we realised we'd been so engrossed in our drawing and laughing and talking, that we'd taken our minds off the stresses of the outside world for a while. After the year we've all had it was exactly what we all needed!

Whilst I won't be giving up the day job (to be an artist) it was a fantastic afternoon which reignited our team spirit! I'd 100% recommend any local business to give it a go.
